The myAudi portal provides key vehicle data and service tools. We enhanced the dealer selection experience to boost engagement and simplify maintenance—making it easier for users to stay connected and on track with their vehicle care.

The challenge

The preferred dealer experience in our platform lacked clarity and ease of use, leading to confusion among users when selecting or managing their preferred dealership.

 

The interface needed a redesign to improve functionality, reduce friction, and align with the platform's overall user experience standards.

Modal design

After examination of the design patterns in the myAudi portal, we opted for a modal design to simplify the process of selecting a preferred dealer.

 

This decision enables us to provide users with a familiar and intuitive experience that seamlessly integrates with the existing portal design.

Goals & Design Focus

Dealership searches

Analysis of user research revealed a preference for searching dealerships by ZIP code over a map view, leading us to prioritize a simpler, more user-aligned experience.

Results & Impact

From concept to impact

The redesigned preferred dealer selector garnered overwhelmingly positive feedback from stakeholders, affirming the success of our meticulously crafted design solution. By skillfully addressing the identified needs and objectives, our design seamlessly aligns with stakeholders' expectations and requirements.

We made selecting a preferred dealer easy and enjoyable by using familiar patterns, smooth animations, and a user-first approach. The result is a seamless design that helps users find their ideal dealer with ease and confidence.

A focus on feedback

Selecting a dealer triggers a seamless animation, guiding focus to the details drawer and reinforcing motion as a key focal point. The same technique is applied when closing the modal.

Post launch updates

Following the launch of the enhanced Preferred Dealer experience, usability testing revealed additional opportunities for improvement.

Including a radius control

Usability testing revealed that users desired the ability to adjust the search radius. In response, we dedicated a sprint to enhancing the Preferred Dealer modal, introducing a customizable radius feature with a default setting of 25 miles.

This update allowed users to tailor their dealer search to better meet their individual needs.
